Weekly Recap: Week 6
Thank you for supporting Evollve! If you like our work, consider donating to help us offset our costs and continue to provide the volleyball community with free access to stats and data.
Welcome to the Evollve weekly newsletter, where every Monday we’ll take a look at some of the most impressive feats of the past week in NCAA volleyball.
Biggest Upset
Arkansas State defeated Southern Miss on Friday, but Southern Miss — with under a 10% chance to win — got their revenge on Saturday in the rematch thanks to two 20+ dig performances from Brynn Botkin and Sadie McAda.
Biggest Comeback
Down to a 1% chance to win on Sunday, NC State stormed back to defeat Florida State. The Wolfpack were down 19-15 in set 4 after dropping two of the first three sets, but they rallied to force a fifth set and ran away with that one, 15-9.
Best Clutch Performance
It’s fitting that our clutch performance of the week (1.15 win probability added in the clutch!) came from the player who indirectly spurred us on to add a new stat to the website.
Ana Burilović led Colorado to a thrilling win over UCF, becoming the first player this season to score 40+ points in the process. Thanks to
on Twitter, following that performance we added points scored to the website. Check it out for yourself!Evollve Top 25
We’ll wrap things up with our model’s top 25 heading into the new week. Nebraska continues to distance itself from the pack, although Texas remains unbeaten as well. Kentucky surges up to the third spot thanks to a 14-set win streak over Evollve top-75 opponents.
